How far along can I be?
| Up to 8 Weeks (56 days) for best success (95%-98%); up to
9 weeks (63 days ) is possible, but has a lower success rate (under 95%) |
Up to 17 weeks, less than 6 weeks may increase the chance

How long does it take?
- Usually 2 visits to the provider
- Take mifepristone(RU-486) on day one in our office.
- Insert 4 tablets of Misoprostol(Cytotec) vaginally or by mouth 24-48 hours later at home.
- It usually takes several hours for the abortion to occur
- Follow up visit on day 7 to 14 at the provider's absolutely necessary |
- One visit to the clinic.
- The abortion procedure takes less than 1 minute.
- Follow-up visit at your doctor's or the provider's in 2 weeks. |
How painful is it?
From mild to very strong cramping off
and on throughout the abortion. Pain pills work. |
From mild to strong cramping during the abortion. Pain medication
is available during and afterwards. |
How much will I bleed?
Heavy bleeding and passing clots
is
common during the abortion. Afterwards, lighter bleeding is common from
9 to 14 days or longer.

Usually light bleeding from 1 to 7 days, but may
continue off and on up to 2 weeks. |
How much does it cost?
| $350 + $50 for Rhogam injection if Rh negative. |
$250 up to 11 weeks LMP, extra $50 for Rhogam if Rh negative,
and $50 for previous C-Section. Heavy sedation recommended, $50 extra and
you must have a ride home.After 11 wks the prices change by weeks. |
